Risa Ravitz, M.D.

Board-certified neurologist Risa Ravitz, MD, at Modern Migraine MD, specializes in migraines, headaches, general neurology, and pain management. She has offices in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, Toms River, New Jersey, and Aventura, Florida, but her care extends well beyond three locations. She also helps patients in many other states across the country find relief from their pain through telemedicine appointments.

After receiving her Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Ravitz completed her residency in neurology at Harbor-University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center in Torrance, California.

While at Harbor-UCLA, she served as the chief resident of neurology, supervising inpatient services and overseeing neurology residents and medical students. She then completed her fellowship training in headache medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Ravitz holds dual board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. She serves as an active member of the American Headache Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

As a migraine sufferer and highly trained headache specialist, Dr. Ravitz is uniquely qualified to help her patients. She understands how migraines and headaches impact daily life and why it's important to get fast relief.

With a passion for holistic care, Dr. Ravitz explores the convergence of Eastern and Western medicine, providing treatments that draw from the best of both worlds. She proudly received the Castle Connolly New York Top Doctor award in 2018 and 2020-21.
